One more panorama of my not-so-secret, secret location. This is the last one for now. I promise. I love this place and I'd like to help both preserve it and open parts of it to the public so it can be appreciated. I hope to be able to spend some time there this spring when I have time off and can get the three day permit required for access. I am praying for good weather and ultra cool clouds then
I think this was 7 horizontal shots stacked vertically but I don't remember exactly.
Seriously, what amazing natural textures!
You are right, Linley--this place lacks depth even when seeing it in person. It's a little disorienting because your eyes WANT to see depth, dimension and contrast but your mind can't detect it in the scene. From where I took the panorama to the far edge of the scene is probably a quarter mile but it looks flat and 2-dimensional. I really look forward to being able to get onto the floor and see it from there.
thanks for letting us in on the secret, brother.
Hang on! Help is late, but on the way!!!!
Thank you Andrew

Red ants, chiggers, rattlesnakes and wild, rabid prairie dogs! A veritable paradise for the sado-masochistic animal lover in all of us!
THank you Richard
