Along The Road

Found a nice stand of wildflowers on a road much traveled last week. Yes, they are finally starting to bloom here--or maybe they have been but I've not noticed. At any rate, I stopped and took a few shots.

A funny thing...these are the things I missed for so many years. Just drove right by them or I would notice them but not really notice them, you know? They were background. Anyway, while I was stooped over, taking shots of purty flowers in the road ditch, just as I pressed the shutter button on a shot one of the blooms fell off.

It struck me that these flowers were short lived and time was running against them for this year and it was probably good that I got my shots when I did A little reminder from Mother Nature that the good times are here but they are quickly receding--time to get your shots, John.

So, like it or not, I will be posting some flower shots over the next few weeks. Taken with my new extension tubes like the 12 mm one I used with my 18-105 kit lens here. I can't gaurantee they will be as spectacular as some that or posts but they will be her eall the same
