B E L I E V E

An edit--My mother passed away on Wednesday morning.  Late at night--around 1:30 A.M.  It's been a long struggle for her and I'm glad she is no longer suffering though, of course, I will miss her dearly.
When I shot this photo, way back when, she wanted an enlargement of it so she could have it framed and so it was done.  She had it framed in barnwood and it looked pretty good.  It hung in her dining room for several years.  Evidently, this photo is going to come back home to me.  She loved that old abandoned church and now, like the old church, mom is no longer in this world.
Rest in Peace Mom.  We'll see you soon.

This abandoned church is well known in this area of Nebraska. It sits just off the highway and everybody who has ever driven that highway has passed it and seen it. It's been abandoned and slowly decaying for at least my entire life. I can't recall ever seeing it in much better condition than this.

Anyway...Every time I passed this church I would make plans to photograph it.
