On the night of the 4th of July I took a road trip to Devil's Tower near Hulette, Wyoming. It's only about 100 miles from where I live. This is the place where 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' was filmed.

I had always kind of ' pooh-poo'd' the tales of strange and wonderful happenings in this place like stories of strange lights, sounds of Native American chants, wild beasts who roam the rocky fractures surrounding the Tower and Hyper-Dimensional Doorways that lead to alternate universes and alternate realities.

Never thought twice about them until the night of July 4th! :omg:

As I was waiting for this exposure to finish--almost right at the end before I closed the shutter, FIVE Hyper-Dimensional Doorways suddenly opened up! Being the chickens@!t I am, I hurriedly closed the shutter on my camera, folded up my tripod and SPRINTED back to my van and tore out of there! :sprint:

I don't know where those Doorways led--my luck it would have been Roseanne Barr's dressing room at shower time and not some fantastic, futuristic alternate world :fear:

I did have the nerve to come back later though to see another strange happening at Devil's Tower... ;)

Thank you David :) I'll bet it hasn't changed a whole lot since you were there last--maybe some of the access has, but the Tower itself stands impeturbable through the ages.
