Doorways at Sylvan Lake

The doorways followed me from Devil’s Tower. It seems I can’t get away from them. Maybe they know something about my future that I don’t? I try to run away--hide from them, but I find it impossible to evade them.

Maybe the answers to all my questions about life are contained within one of them. I don’t know. I’m terrified of the future and mortified by my past. I can see nothing when I look into them, but feel an irresistible pull to dive headlong into one of them. All I have to do is pick one.

My curiosity about where they lead is overcoming my well developed sense of self preservation. I draw a deep breath and step forward into the first doorway into…
