So many title choices ripped from songs for this shot but so little creativity from me. I guess my brain has finally turned to mush from so many miles in that Blue Freightshaker. The best and most beautiful moments for me in trucking is when I get an opportunity like this one--shot was taken east of Gillette, Wyoming. I drove through that storm 70 miles from Buffalo, Wyoming in a mad attempt to get in front of it. This time I got what I wanted...The storm wasn't moving faster than my truck!
This storm was laying down wicked cool lightning every few seconds--this was a 30 second exposure and you can see how many bolts in that timeframe. One of the very best storms of the 2013 year I got to shoot. I've another shot from a different angle that the company I drive for used in some advertising. It was kind of cool to see one of my shots in print media even if I didn't get paid. I probably won't post that shot--at least, not for a while.
Holy Crimeny! A DD! This was a very welcome and pleasant surprise after a long, cold day on the road! Thank you to for suggesting this as a DD and to for featuring it and thank you to everyone who has viewed, commented on or faved this. I appreciate it more than any of you know!
and if you wouldn't have commented on one of mine, never would find it
keep safe on the road, i love trucks and their drivers
oh, and as a later edit... it is my new wallpaper
I sat there all slackjawed..
for ten minutes. . And just stared.
My girl asked if I was lookin at boobies.. hahahaaaa...
Thanks for the kudos--you're part of the reason this shot came out so good you know I've always wanted my stuff to be close to par with yours so you liking this enough to skip some boobies really means a lot to me, pard! Thank you!
Damn good to see you too.. ya I was lookin over some books and found yours... made the smile and was thankful for good people like you.
The juxtaposition of starburst glare of the truck lights balances with its warmth the cool and staggering effect of the series of lightning flashes in the distance.
Looking at the intensity of these flashes makes me realize I would NOT want to be living directly beneath the segment on the far right.
Thank you very much!
I'd love under those strikes but I'd not take a shower or use the phone
well done to you!
