Something a little different. I don't shoot scenes like this very often but this old place begged to be photographed.
This is the front entry to a place I barely remember--the Hat Creek General Store north of Lusk, Wyoming. I'm thinking it closed in the early , early 70s so I would have been about 5 or 6. I do remember stopping there with either my father or grandfather. It had a general store, post office, bar, cafe and sold gas out front like a modern day convenience store. This was a legitimate Road House.
Like the old Tumble Inn in Powder River, Wyoming I wanted to get some shots before these places are gone forever. I'm still trying to get a better shot of the whole place--it's either overcast or bare blue sky or full dark or I'm too pressed for time when I get by there. One day, I'll get it
This is a merging of three RAW files (-2, 0, +2) then worked over in PSP 13. It's color because my black and white work sux
So here you took 3 images with different exposure ... itīs so beautiful, John. I love such old buildings... and you made it real honor in a magnificent photo.
Thank you Manny I'm glad you like it my friend. It's a favorite old building along a highway I travel. One day it will fall in or be demolished and I would like to honor it with a great set of pictures one day.
interesting subject, and Iīm sure you will get great images!
I am very glad it begged you to shoot it...
