Pitiless

He hesitates a block away
watching surreptitiously
the homeless man

hoping he won’t hear
the coins clinking
in his pocket

as he slinks past
trying not to spill
his mocha latte
Not my usual fare. I'm trying to describe the feelings of both men: the one that 'has' and the one that 'has not.' It's more about not taking the time to help your fellow person or not wanting to.

Maybe I am a sucker, but I have never turned away a panhandler. Even if all I have is a couple coins I give them to them if they ask. I read somewhere in the bible a story of Jesus saying not to turn away the beggars for it may be me you turn away or something like that.

Maybe I pulled this off and maybe I didn't. I'll work on it some more :)
