A rock formation called The Organ in Arches National Park. This was one of the first shots I took on my vacation in Moab a couple weeks ago. I've seen this formation many times--I've even got a photomanipulation in my gallery that features this. At times I kind of feel like the Richard Dreyfuss character in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and I have been inexorably drawn to this place by some power.
Who knows? All I know is that I love the place and I hope to return again in the future. I plan to, but we all know how life plans go, don't we?
In Moab, there is the Gallery of Tom Till who is a local professional photographer. His gallery is loaded with eye-popping, gorgeous landscapes from all over Utah. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and talking with him for a bit. I noticed he had a photo of this very rock formation hanging on his wall and featured some spring wildflowers called Mule's Ears in the foreground. His shot was MUCH better than mine though. However, he did not take this shot--this was taken on my adventure so I like this one best If you ever happen to go to Moab, Utah be sure to stop by Tom's gallery and ogle at his amazing photographs of Utah's beautiful canyon country.
This shot is dedicated to my friend Bia . because she is just an amazing person
Thank you very much It's hard to get something unique but it's worth the effort. I was too early in the spring for the Mule's Ears or I'd probably have that shot too! Have you been to Tom Till's gallery? Wonderful, eye-popping wall candy all around I saw you were from Utah--maybe not Moab, per se.
Yes I live about three hours away from Moab. I think I may have seen his work while exploring the town last year. There are lots of brilliant desert photographers though, and seeing their work kind of makes me feel discouraged hahaha. But, like I said, it's nice to: A, (most importantly for me) witness these beautiful places with my own eyes, and B, photograph it for myself to the best of my ability.
