Kind of a story behind this capture (I'm still tickled to have gotten this shot ) I had a load I was taking to Cody, Wyoming the other day--had to leave the night before to make the unload time. So I drove all night and watched the flashes and lights of a thunderstorm for most of it; hating every minute of not being able to catch it in time to shoot some pictures
Anyway, I stopped at a little pull off area just north of Thermopolis, Wyoming to take a little break and try to shoot some sunrise shots--great clouds were in the area and this one *was* producing a bolt of lightning every so often. It was the kind of lightning that happens when a storm is dying and is just expending the last ergs of energy it has left. (The bolts are usually very fast and very weak--still cool though )
Well the sunrise colors didn't really pan out and I only shot 3 frames total but managed to catch this display in the last one. One of the better bolts I saw that morning. I smiled big all the way to Cody and back to home. Now I present this to you for your viewing pleasure
I agree.
