Description
My wife and I spent the Thanksgiving holiday at her folks farm in Minnesota. I haven't been on the farm for several years and things have changed quite a lot--like the farm being surrounded by windmills. Two of which are on the folk's farm providing electricity, income and a strange kind of music when the wind blows.
The last time I was there there were windmills but they were several miles away but now there are hundreds of them all around. I got to witness the 'Strobe Effect' the propeller blades have during low light like sunsets. It was a little disconcerting but it went away after an hour or so.
I know these have been photographed to death--like many things--but I've tried to do something a little different with this so it's not cliche Well...it IS cliche but how many 6 bladed windmills have you ever seen? This is an in camera blend of two exposures to get those six blades I did hoof my worthless carcass out into a cornfield to get the shot too--went right up to the base of the windmill and just listened to what the windmill had to say...
